Project Introduction

This is a turn-based RPG with Dungeon Crawler and minor Roguelite mechanics. Either the Streamer or the viewers pick the dungeon, then navigate through that dungeon with chat commands. Occasionally they will find interactible NPCs that give the party a random buff for the duration of that dungeon.

As they navigate, they will encounter random battles that viewers participate in. They pick their class, currently 1 of 7, and join the fight. First 8 players to join get to control the actions of their avatar in turn-based combat. Everyone else in chat have the option to collectively control an NPC character that has a random skillset. This means that everyone in your chat, regardless of how large, can participate in the battle. The larger the player team gets, the more enemies show up to help balance the fight, but the difficulty settings can still control how hard fights are overall.

Defeating enemies/bosses award items, Linere (currency), and experience which can level up a class. Classes gain new skills as they level up, allowing them to become more efficient in helping the party along in the dungeon.

Those levels are maintained on that class even if they switch to another class later but, even better, is also maintained if they go to any other stream on that platform and send a message in the chat.

About Developer

CasperDragonWolf, Eroaxee, and Falinere make up the primary developers of Falinere Fantasy. Each of us are Twitch Streamers doing various aspects of game development and programming that met on that platform:

Falinere - Gamer turned Game Dev, Falinere started learning programming and game development by making games inside OBS, the program streamers use to broadcast their PC screen to streaming platforms. An unorthodox way of making games, Falinere eventually moved over to his first game engine, Godot, and brought this game with him. He leads gameplay and mechanic design on the team.

EroAxee - Long Time 3D Modeller restarted his game development journey with 3D games in Godot doing jams and personal projects. Eventually he met Falinere while streaming and murdering his PC creating OBS games. Then he helped out for awhile with that and later joined the team for Falinere Fantasy to help out with bits of programming as well as doing most of the art and UI. In Blender.

CasperDragonWolf - Hobbiest Developer for 24 years, working with various languages, and learning as he went along. Dragon became interested in developing games since his first interaction with a computer, back when Commodore 64, Apple IIe, and ZX Spectrum were popular units. His specialty is developing Database structure, Network communication and general design and development. With a simple philosphy of nothing is impossible, just not figured out yet.
