Project Introduction

STORY
In a world very similar to ours, there was a war, which ended about five years ago. Many human and animal lives were shattered, including the life of our protagonist, cat named Ulthar, who lost his owner.

Not all war criminals were brought to justice after their defeat. Some of them fled to neutral countries, changing their names and appearance. Some of them could buy their way out.

Ulthar brings them to justice one after one. Even if he is not always able to overcome enemies by brute force, he uses stealth and cunning to create sophisticated traps and plan well-timed attacks.

There is no place to hide. Palaces, prisons, expensive yachts, art galleries, military bases, and restaurants... Nothing, even a fortified bunker, will stop retribution.

You may get the impression, that the antagonists are based on real persons. and the game is actually a sophisticated call for a manhunt in a real world, and you won't be completely wrong.

PROLOGUE MISSION

“Ulthar’s Revenge: Prologue” is a small mission which serves as an introduction to the Setting and Gameplay. It takes place four years before the events of the main game.

The young cat is alone at home. He does not know yet, that the war has been started, and his master is targeted by the enemies’ special task force.

Now he has to protect his home and his master from the insane professor, accompanied by two cold-blooded assassins.

GAMEPLAY

Silently move through the 3D environment, and use high and low places to hide.
Observe the environment and your enemies.
Outsmart the AI, create diversions and take them by surprise.
Inspire fear and despair.
Use the enemy's strengths and weaknesses against them.

About Developer

Octobear Knights Games is a Berlin-based indie game studio founded in 2019 by Alexandr Wolodarskij. We experiment a lot, pushing the genre boundaries and experimenting with different mediums and technologies. We like to think about games as art, but it is important for us to make them enjoyable and engaging experiences for the players. Our first title, "October Night Games", was released on 10.2020.

We collaborated with multiple talented developers, artists, and composers from Germany, Ukraine and all over the world. We planned to open a legal entity in Ukraine and make it official. But due to the Russian invasion, our plans have been postponed, and our work calls were often interrupted by air-raid sirens.

Initially the game was developed mostly by Alexandr Wolodarskij (Game Design, Programming) and Dmitry Kazakov (Narrative Design), music is made by Alex Gluhimchuk ("House of Rising Sun").
The team is going to be expanded as soon as we get funding.

We also have some preliminary agreements with the band Tiger Lillies, about the possibility of using their music in games.
