Project Introduction

Anima Keeper is an open-world first-person action RPG where you have to survive in the ruins of a fallen empire, investigating the mystery of the GHOST that entered your body and the cause of the collapse. Collect treasures, research spells, and destroy marauders. Your time in the world is limited, and if you don't get out before the collapse - you will lose everything.

- Game Start & Raid Preparation

As the player is ready, all they need to do is activate the portal from the shelter and enter it. When entering the portal, the player will emerge at a random location in the collapse zone. Along with mining the main in-game currency (anima shards), the game is full of other treasures guarded by dirty ears (local marauders). The player can explore the world, fulfill merchants' assignments or simply collect anima & treasures for sale and equipment upgrade.

- Survive Collapse & Escape

The time a player stays in the world is limited by a collapse, a sort of cataclysm, which occurs gradually and is divided into waves. While playing it is important to keep track of the wave timer, since the final collapse stage will kill the player. In the future, the last waves of the collapse will feature ghouls, extremely dangerous monsters that attack all living creatures.

Ghouls are the result of an evil soul entering a human body. Evil souls can only enter bodies during the last waves of collapse. They try to take over the only available shells (corpses), so it is important for the player to burn the bodies of the creatures or simply avoid killing them. We are going to develop this mechanic. This will be the most dynamic stage in the game cycle.

- Upgrade Traders & Equipment

Portals need energy and only open before the last stage of collapse. With a bit of luck and good preparation, the player can leave the location by entering the portal in time. Eventually, the player will end up in their shelter, where they can sell all treasures to merchants and purchase useful items, update quests and start a new raid with better equipment and new knowledge.
