Project Introduction

A physics-based game for up to 6 players. Throw rocks, collect power-ups, and master the art of bending to defeat your opponents. In Island Bender, only three buttons and a joystick are needed to create and throw rocks at your friends, while you try to keep your balance on wobbly platforms.

With a playful and upbeat soundtrack, you'll feel like jumping from island to island. Easy to learn, but hard to master, the game's simple mechanics ensure immediate fun. Grab your favorite snacks, jump on the couch, and start playing now!

About Developer

Island Bender Games is a creative team comprised of freelancers and students passionate about game development. The team members come from various regions in Germany, including North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg. Island Bender was initially conceived by Felix Voigtländer, a game developer from North Rhine-Westphalia.

Sima Spielmann, an artist from Baden-Württemberg, joined the project in March 2022, followed by Anh-Thu Nguyen, another artist from North Rhine-Westphalia, in June 2022. Florian Simon, also from Baden-Württemberg, contributes to the team as a sound and music specialist. Inês Reis, from Setúbal, Portugal, is responsible for PR and the website.

The team members work remotely, utilizing tools like Discord and Notion to communicate and collaborate on the project. Island Bender draws inspiration from popular media, such as the TV show "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and various video games, including Ori and the Blind Forest.

Island Bender has a connection to the German indie games scene through its participation in events like IndieGameFest in Cologne and PLAY!CON in Trier. The game received positive feedback from players, which encouraged the team to resume development and continually improve the gameplay and user experience.
