The Karst

The Main Idea
As big fans of the rouge-like RPG genre we were inspired by such great games as Darkest Dungeon, Don’t Starve & Hero Siege. And here we have “The Karst”, something dark, addictive, atmospheric. The game which will dip you into the exciting world full of challenges. You’ll be able to play on PC & Switch, and we are thinking about the mobile version.

The Gameplay
We took an example of battles from Hero Siege and made it less dynamic but more colorful. So you can fight with more complex creatures which are not that easy to kill. Then we took the graphic from The Darkest Dungeon & Don’t Starve as a reference and create our own style, please check it out!

The Storyline
This post-apocalyptic roguelike RPG with elements of management and survival will make you feel like you rescuing the world. You can feel a patina of despair with the gravity of everything the inhabitants faced with. The world is cold, aggressive and gruff, but this the only thing left for you. As a protagonist, you try to find your place and you’ll find it. You’ll see the hope in the inhabitants’ eyes. You are a saver for them.

The action of the game is taking place right after a massive ecological disaster. It made the surface of the planet uninhabitable. Survivors had to go underground and settle in the caves. They became to build a so-called “new society” with great hope to see the previous beautiful world that they destroyed.

Mechanics
You play the role of “cleaner”, you’ll fight with dangerous creatures and clean the dungeons. It’s like a roguelike “Witcher” in techno punk. You can have traumas of limbs, illnesses and lots of different weapons.

You live your own house, buy different objects to upgrade it, you can visit other houses of different citizens and houses located in dungeons. Also, we created a special craft system. You can do it with your friends and solve team problems.

В нашей команде всего 17 человек + аутсорс, опыт в гейм деве больше 10ти лет в различных крупных и не очень проектах. Мы работаем в Киеве и Одессе. Конкретно над Карстом работают трое. Игра родилась в голове у одного из наших гейм дизайнеров, Вадима. Он начал её разрабатывать и сейчас она на стадии вертикального среза (почти). Мы возили её показывать на DevCom и GamesCom, летом, в 2019м году, и всячески питчим при любой возможности.
