Project Introduction

Houston, we have a problem is a couch co-op game for two (up to four in the future) players, where you play as repair droids, flying through an asteroid field, trying to safely bring the ship home. Your priorities are teamwork and keeping the ship systems up and running, also patching holes in the hull and trying not to fall through them into the outer space. You'll have to work together and help each other, whether it be recharging a dead teammate, or completing one of many potential tasks, that require coordinated actions.

The simplicity of core mechanic opens a possibility to create more diverse and complex gameplay with more stuff to fix in new ways and more obstacles and dangers to avoid. And with fun and challenging core gameplay the game can be easily scaled and expanded.

The project was made in two days and two sleepless nights as part of the Global Game Jam 2020. I enjoyed making it, and both judges and other participants enjoyed giving it a try. I believe in the game, though it needs a lot of work, I'm just looking for a push in the right direction, so that in a year or two we all can gather with friends to get some fixing done in "Houston, we have a problem".

About Developer

I'm a solo developer, trying to juggle work, personal projects and healthy sleep, based in Kharkiv, Ukraine. I do everything myself and, when needed, I even do it well.
I only make games that I like, and like all the games that I make. I hope, some of you will like them too. I am a full-time Unity developer and someday I will have enough money to have enough time to bring all my ideas to life.

Maybe it will happen this year. Or next year. Yes. Next year sounds good. Let's leave it at that.
