Herr Palmister – смесь паззла в духе Papers, Please и визуальной новеллы, рассказывающий историю альтернативной вселенной: здесь Третий Рейх нашел себе союзника в лице свободной Индии, где к власти пришла националистическая партия “Хинду Махасабха” (та самая, что покушалась на Махатму Ганди).

Игрок находится в гуще событий, предшествующих Второй Мировой, вникая в политические интриги Рейха на территории союзников и наблюдая последствия недавней революции в Индии. Его основное занятие – чтение линий на руках и распределение судеб и занятости людей; все это – от лица члена СС, с непоколебимой (или не совсем?) верой в успех Фюрера и Рейха.

Project Introduction

After the overthrow of the British government in India and the arrival of allied German troops there, a process of caste reformation began, based on the teachings of palmistry. Now the fate of an ordinary person depends only on the lines on their hands - and, of course, on your decisions, Herr Palmister.

Herr Palmister is a mix of a Papers, Please-like puzzle gameplay and a visual novel that tells the story of an alternative universe: here the Third Reich found an ally in the person of a free India, where the nationalist party "Hindu Mahasabha" (the guys who also tried to kill Mahatma Gandhi) came to power.

The player is in the thick of the events of last months before World War II starts; diving deep into the political intrigues of the Reich in the territory of its ally and observing the consequences of the recent revolution in India. His main occupation is reading lines on people's hands and selecting the destinies and employment of people; all this - on behalf of a member of the SS, with unshakable (or not quite?) faith in the success of the Fuehrer and the Reich.

About Developer

We, the Sowoke Entertainment Bureau, met at the Global Game Jam in 2018 and since then we regularly participate in various jams, make rapid game prototypes, and showcase at meetups & gamedev conferences. Since this year February, after a fairly successful release in 2020, we decided to become unemployed, uhm, I mean, full-time indie.

Four of us have been working on this project since November 2020. Our roles are divided as follows:

- Ivan Turmenko is responsible for game design and sound design
- Vitaly Zubkov designs the narrative
- Nikolay Krasko makes art
- Taras Dashkov collects all this in Unity and makes it work, which makes each of us is sincerely surprised every day
