Project Introduction

Players rollerblade through the small open-world map and interact with non-player characters and environmental cues. Some NPCs will offer quests such as delivering items or gathering information. Completing tasks and discovering new things throughout the game world allows the player to discover all there is to know about this little city over its 3-hour story.
The rollerblading movement mechanic is central to RollerGirl. We created an intuitive custom 3D character controller and are finetuning game physics to ensure the rollerblading movement feels authentic, fluid, and enjoyable.
The music mechanic links in-game music to visual effects and is also influenced by the in-game day-night cycle. Certain quests and songs are only available to the player during specified times of the day. Even after the story elements are completed, the player can still replay the game to focus on the collectible elements and music. The goal of the game is to earn enough cash to fix up the player's old junker car and uncover some interesting stories along the way.
