Project Introduction

Monospaced Lovers is a narrative platform-adventure game about closeness and distance. The story follows a girl’s metafictional journey through a fantasy-filled land to save her world before it disintegrates.

The game’s key feature is a text messaging system where the heroine, Clara, converses with a character that she can't meet — they can only communicate through their phones. The text messages are woven into the puzzles and quests as in-game hints, but they gradually lead the story in the direction of an anime-inspired drama.

Monospaced Lovers aims to deliver a nuanced and heartfelt storyline that develops organically alongside its unconventional, puzzle-driven gameplay.

Scarlet String Studios is a one-person brand created by game developer Stefan Bhagwandin in 2018. As the sole full-time developer, Stefan is focused on crafting games that blend narrative with gameplay and that treat the player like an adult. The company has worked with several talented contractors to bring its ideas to life.
