Project Introduction

Lingo Legend combines a captivating collectible card game with a rigorous flashcard system in which you build a deck to battle monsters, all while learning a language. You face opponents of varying difficulty and must gain experience to unlock new cards to defeat them. You control your playstyle through deck customization; and of course, this all takes place in an immersive fantasy world.

A monster invasion that has left your farm destroyed and your animals frightened and scattered. You set out to rescue them but quickly become entangled in the under-resourced military effort dedicated to uncovering where these monsters came from and how to stop them.

Intriguing characters and creatures will guide you on quests as you uncover the secrets behind the Yorth’s mysterious appearance. You will gather resources to craft powerful weapons and discover collectibles to customize your avatar and your camp.

Monthly challenges, player ranks, and leaderboards encourage friendly competition and reward accountability among learners. All these elements and more will keep you motivated as you defeat enemies and progress through a vast curriculum of vocabulary, grammar and phrases in your target language.

About Developer

Lingo Legend was designed and developed by CEO, Darien Morris and COO, Hannah Wright. Both born and raised just outside of Hamilton, Ontario.

Darien is an insightful game designer with over a decade of experience developing educational games that strike the perfect balance between engagement and learning. He was previously the Head of Product at Prodigy Education, a popular online math game for students.

Darien has been interested in languages since he was a kid. Having tried learning Japanese, French, and Mandarin, he is no stranger to the innate challenges of language learning. Darien has experienced first-hand how a lack of motivation can derail your progress. As an avid video gamer, he saw the opportunity to leverage the innate engagement of video games with learning to solve this problem for himself and millions of other learners.

The language content was developed by a team of language learning experts led by Hannah. Each language has a custom-designed curriculum that covers concepts for beginner to intermediate learners.
