Project Introduction

Keyword 2: Nightfall is the sequel to our debut game, Keyword: A Spider’s Thread. It is a 3D, single-player, first-person open-world detective RPG with an emphasis on world-building and character development. The primary design goal for Keyword 2 is to create a living, breathing world with a diverse cast of NPCs, conspiracies as well as mind-bending puzzles.

Immerse yourself in the vast expanse of a single city block, where every unveiled secret only hints at something deeper and more profound. Assume the role of Kurt, a skilled detective summoned to a luxurious penthouse in the dead of night to investigate the shocking murder of the daughter of the city's most influential figure. This meticulously crafted world is comparable to "an inch wide but a mile deep," enticing you to explore every nook and cranny. Drawing inspiration from the labyrinthine Kowloon Walled City, the game introduces captivating verticality that offers unique traversal opportunities and hidden discoveries.

The finished game will feature a comprehensive story with multiple intertwined storylines, each influencing the others. Players' choices will lead to various achievable endings based on the puzzles they've solved. All concept art and web UI will be seamlessly integrated. In-game objects and character models will either be licensed appropriately or entirely created by our team. The game will be accompanied by a background music score that extends throughout, with specially designed audio cues or musical pieces enhancing the discovery of vital clues or the initiation of new storylines. All necessary game mechanics will be implemented, ensuring a bug-free experience. The game menu and credits section will also be included.

This single-player experience will be available on PC and popular consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation, delivering a substantial gameplay duration of 10-15 hours. Anticipate the game's release in the second quarter of 2025.
