Project Introduction

Our core gameplay pillars are as follows:

1. Interacting with Text. Stepping on words will cause a massive variety of effects to occur. Step on “quick” and gain movement speed, etc! We have a lot of interesting ways this can be fun and surprising.

2. Solving Puzzles. Each level has a unique and often obscure solution. The words on the ground and friendly NPCs will guide you. Sometimes there are hidden areas that require even more contemplation to access. For example, there is a place that you can only enter if you're small, so you have to find the word "small" somewhere on the page to shrink yourself.

3. Battling Bosses. Each act concludes with a boss battle. Each boss is built entirely from scratch with new abilities and behaviors. Words also play a big component in these battles. For example, in one boss fight, you must find the right words to step on to defeat the boss, and the wrong words will harm you.

4. Online Co-Op. It can be played as a single-player experience or an online cooperative experience. The game is primarily focused on being an excellent singleplayer experience, but it also lends itself to a fun and cooperative multiplayer experience. Players can read to each other, narrate the game, and help each other progress because some portions of the text will be obscured to each player.

About Developer

Blue Pin Studio is a small team, usually 2 or 3 of us, working on games out of Toronto and Montreal, Canada. We have already shipped one title to Steam in December 2020 and are aiming to release two more games in 2023!

We are hugely passionate about games and have a lot of experience playing them. Once COVID lockdowns started, we figured it was a perfect time to pursue our dreams of designing games much like the ones we love.
